Joining a leading financial services firm, the Information Security Department has ownership over all cyber related risks, ensuring robust assessment and assurance of security controls covering end-to-end enterprise security.

About the Position

The IT Security, Vice President will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day management of the Information Security Team; Effective and efficient management of all Information Security operations, IT Information Security tasks, risks and issues; Lead the day-to-day management of the Information Security Engineer Support team which incorporates key delivery partners and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• The VP of IT Security will be responsible for the planning, analysis, and design of security systems, including network monitoring, intrusion detection, identity management, and data protection. You will lead and manage the Information Security Team, overseeing both Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and technical security controls.

• A key part of this role involves day-to-day management of security projects, including upgrades and new deployments. You will be hands-on with technologies like Palo Alto firewalls, Traps, and Cloudflare for DDOS protection, as well as managing endpoint security. 

• You'll also be the primary security contact for new projects during their planning and design and phase, with implementation oversight.

• Ensure the team monitors and responds to SIEM alerts in coordination with third-party providers, leads out on internal phishing and cyber exercises, and documents the company's IT security infrastructure. 

• A critical function is ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (GDPR, and DORA) and internal policies. You will also manage internal and SWIFT CSP audits, liaise with senior business managers, and oversee vendor relationships.

Experience/Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 7 - 10+ years of experience in cyber security with a strong background in both GRC and technical security. 

• Advanced knowledge of security architecture and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Dark Trace, and IDS/IPS systems.

• Adept leadership, management, and communication skills, working with cross functional stakeholders and experience with presenting to board sub committees and the Executive teams. 

• Sound experience in a regulated financial services sector would be ideal, however, other regulated sectors will be considered also.

• Strong understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, etc.)

• Sound project management skills

• Proven track record of managing audits, especially SWIFT CSP, along with SIEM monitoring and alert response management 

• A CISSP or equivalent qualification is required, and knowledge of ISO 27001 or ITIL is a plus. The role requires balancing GRC skills with a strong technical background, including managing security risks on public cloud and virtualization platforms.
