Brightwater Executive is delighted to be retained exclusively by our client, a leading international professional services firm, for the search of their Human Resources Director.

About the Position

As a key member of the leadership team, the HR Director will lead, motivate, and enable a best-in-class HR business partnering and HR operations function, ensuring new HR systems and processes are fully embedded to realise the value-add efficiencies for various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be an adept communicator and a strong enabler to further enhance the HR services from a day-to-day operational, business as usual focus, along with providing strategic support across the various practice divisions and corporate support areas, in line with the firms needs and commercial objectives.  

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide HR leadership support and advice as needed to the Managing Partner, Partners, Heads of Function, Managers and Supervisors across all relevant areas.
  • Support the business across all aspects of the employee lifecycle: HR strategy; talent management; talent acquisition; performance; employee relations; organisational change; project management; culture and EVP.
  • Provide practical executive coaching in all areas of leadership, particularly in cultural creation, alignment and change management at an individual, team and organisational level.
  • Continue to build on the development of the HR team and service to provide HR Business Partnering expertise for the various business areas and support the strategic and operational delivery of solutions and services such as Employee Relations, Talent Management, Organisational Design, Change Management, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards Planning.
  • Act as an ambassador and advocate both within and outside the firm, particularly in relation to CSR, diversity and inclusion and career development (from graduate through to partner levels)
  • Lead out on HR projects and new initiatives as required to further embed a high performing culture.
  • Ensure health, safety and wellbeing programmes are in place and adequately resourced.
  • Ensure L & D needs across the HR team are identified and implemented where needed and support the wider practice L&D teams where needed. 
  • Monitor and oversee compliance with HR and corporate policies and procedures, providing HR /corporate compliance reports, and conducting audits.

Experience/Requirements

  • 10+ years’ proven senior HR leadership experience and expertise, with significant experience in HR strategy, process development and change management.
  • 3rd level qualification in HR, Organisational Psychology, or a business-related field. 
  • Proven track record within professional services, with experience operating at a senior level with senior stakeholders is essential.
  • Experienced in leading HR functions for organisations with 300 + staff ideally. 
  • Strong operational HR experience of running an end-to-end HR service, demonstrating strong value add through realising operational efficiencies and improved automation through HR system platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and experience with issues, complaints and investigations
  • Strong ability to influence and communicate at a senior level, collaborating and working well in a team environment.
  • Self-starter, who is highly solution orientated, strong initiative and decisive when needed and independently resourceful.
  • Absolute confidentiality and a positive, flexible approach to work and people
  • Strategic and action orientated mindset who thrives in driving things forward and “getting things done”. 
  • Strong culture carrier, with great energy and can-do attitude.
