Finance Director/CFOBrightwater Executive is delighted to be retained exclusively by our client, HPC Group Ireland, in their search for a Finance Director/CFO.
About the Company
HPC (Home Project Centre) Group is a 100% privately owned Irish business providing a comprehensive range of building materials and DIY products to the construction industry and DIY trade. With annual turnover of +€155m, HPC Group is the second largest building and DIY materials business in Ireland.
Trading as TJ O’ Mahony and PH Ross, the group operates 18 stores with a team of 410 providing a customer-centric service construction and DIY projects. In addition to its comprehensive product portfolio, the Group has specialist divisions including – Heating, Plumbing, Insulation, Paving and Decking, further enhancing our offering and expertise.

About the Position
As FD/CFO, you will be a key member of the executive team, leading the financial planning, management, and strategy of the organisation. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the company’s financial health, supporting projects, and driving growth in the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all financial operations, and financial reporting.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, delivering actionable insights to the CEO and Board.
- Develop and execute the financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s corporate goals and growth initiatives.
- Oversee capital structure, optimise the working capital funding strategy, balance sheet management and long-term financial planning.
- Ensure robust internal controls, compliance frameworks and adherence to legal requirements.
- Participate as a senior executive in supplier contract negotiations and provides executive sponsorship in managing supplier relationships
Experience/Requirements
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
- A proven track record in senior financial leadership, with 10+ years of experience in a complimentary finance role.
- Demonstrated success in managing financial operations of businesses with annual turnover of +€50m.
- Multi-location retail and/or Supplier of Building Materials experience.
- Experience of M&A transactions and integrating businesses into existing operations.
- Experience with supporting commercial teams to create, execute, and optimise profitable growth strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
