About the Position
Uniphar is seeking a Group Head of Sustainability to drive the sustainability agenda across its global business to ensure the Group’s sustainability practices improve year-on-year to become best in class comparable to industry peers.
This is an exciting role for anyone interested in sustainability strategy and implementation. Uniphar have put a big focus on sustainability in recent years with executive buy-in at the highest levels of the organisation and this role is a great opportunity for the right candidate to bring Uniphar to the next level to be truly best in class in this area.
The role will be reporting into the Executive Leadership Team, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leadership teams across Uniphar Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the Group’s sustainability strategy and develop innovative projects to position Uniphar as a sustainability leader.
- Ensuring Group readiness and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements in the area of sustainability
- Working with the relevant stakeholders within the business to define and implement sustainability initiatives.
- Defining and implementing reporting on relevant sustainability metrics across the Group
- Assist with the delivery of specific programmes, projects, and initiatives to achieve and improve upon the Group’s sustainability metrics.
- Reviewing sustainability-related data, ensuring the availability and collection of high-quality data to underpin monitoring, and reporting of the Group’s performance against sustainability metrics.
- Understand, communicate, and advise on risk and appropriate mitigation strategies associated with sustainability.
- Maintain visibility of the sustainability offering to our clients and employees and ensure collaboration and integration between strategy and client-facing teams.
- Reporting on the Group’s sustainability progress in Annual Report
- Develop plans for maintenance of external sustainability ratings.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders in the area of sustainability, including supplier engagement programmes.
Experience/Requirements
- Relevant experience and expertise in Sustainability reporting requirements
- Relevant experience in GHG emissions accounting, Science Based Targets, biodiversity, circular economy, green procurement, human rights /modern slavery, and ED&I
- Relevant experience engaging senior executives on the business case for sustainability and operationalizing improvement programmes in business.
- Great Project Management skills essential
- Great interpersonal and managerial skills essential
- Professional maturity to take ownership of various assignments.
- Commercial and solutions focused.
- Masters in Sustainable Development/Environmental Science or similar
